(Speakers: Dr. Alex Prusevich and Julian Jenkins)
This guided tour of the spectacular GIS Day Tenth Anniversary Map Exhibition on display at this year's GIS Day events will take the audience around the world on the wings of cartography while viewing spectacular satellite imagery and maps of our world from the depths of the oceans, to the heights of the mountains, to views from space. This featured tour will include commentary about Geography, data sources, map content, and remote sensing and GIS technologies.

  2. Hands on Digital Mapping and GIS:   (Speaker: Fay Rubin)
This presentation will emphasize the definitions of GIS, GPS, and Remote Sensing. Students will get a hands on facilities tour of Complex Systems Research Center's well equiped GIS and remote sensing laboratory where students will be given the opportunity to try their hand at digital mapping and GIS.

  3. Careers and Education in GIS:   (Speaker: ESRI Staff)
Presenters will show students the many opportunities available to them in the Geo-Spatial Sciences. They will see the diverse uses of the technologies and skills used by today's GIS, GPS Remote Sensing professionals and learn what career and educational opportunities exist for them in this field.

  4. New England Regional Geo-Science College Fair:
(Moderators: Dr. Steve Hale and Michael Gagnon)
A regional Geo-Science College Fair featuring representatives and curricula from several Geo-Science departments from colleges and universites from all over New England.

  5. Student Adventures:
Students will be able to choose between going to see the new information packed National Science Foundation (NSF) ICE WORLDS planetarium show or the CATLAB Projedct 54 full sized automobile driving simulator:

National Science Foundation ICE WORLDS Planetarium Show:  (Moderator: Andrew Dolph)
A Planetarium show that takes the audience on a tour of the icy landscapes of our solar system - especially our home planet Earth. In Ice Worlds audiences explore the critical relationship between ice and life - a tale of friend and foe, enabling, challenging, supporting and adapting - that has developed over millions of years! (Located in Room 131)

CAT LAB Project 54 Automobile Driving Simulator:  Moderator: Alex Shyrokov)
Come see the Project 54 full size driving simulator and see how researchers use this tool to simulate real driving environ- ments within a virtually mapped world to study human interactions with law enforcement equipment and vehicles under a series of circumstances. (On display in room 231 from 9:30 to 11:00 pm, 11:30 to 12:30 and from 1:30 to 5:00 pm)
